My darling brother,
It grieves me very much to think that we have to be parted from each other till this war is over but I feel quite proud to think that you are fighting for your King & Country. Be brave Francis dear & do your very best. Think of us & write to us whenever you have spare time. We will always think of you & pray that you may do your duty well. Now Francis, I have told you many times before not to play the fool on land (?) or swim when you get there, but I am reminding you again in case you forget. Take care of yourself Francis & don’t swim. Don’t worry about Mother because I promise to look after her. Now Francis dear, I wish you good luck & God-speed. May God bless my dear brother & bring him back safe to us.
I remain
ever your affect. (?) sister
Jeanie
P.S. Please tell Walter (?) that I wish him good luck.
