My Dearest Arthur,
Your long looked for letter has reached your Mum at last, and I can assure you it was a great relief off everyone’s mind. I am so glad to hear you are alive although we wondered so many different things about you.
You cannot imagine what excitement it caused. Mum sent Harold up with it for me to read which I am sure was so very good of her.
I can just picture the state of affairs where you are, but as we know there is but one to whom to trust for all things. I see you are in need of a great many things, so we are going to send to you as much of it as possible. But of course we don’t know when ever it will reach you.

Pek Sevgili Arthur,
Uzun zamandır yolunu gözlediğimiz mektubun annene nihayet ulaştı ve bunun herkesin içini ferahlattığını temin edebilirim. Hakkında birçok farklı şeyi merak etmiş olsak da hayatta olduğunu duyduğuma çok sevindim.
Mektubunun nasıl bir heyecan yarattığını hayal edemezsin. Annen okumam için mektubu bana Harold’la gönderdi. Bunu yapması tabii çok düşünceli bir hareket.
Bulunduğun yerdeki şartları gözümde canlandırabiliyorum, ancak bilindiği üzere her hususta güveneceğimiz tek biri vardır. Pek çok şeye ihtiyaç duyduğunu anlıyorum, bu yüzden sana mümkün olduğunca çok şey göndereceğiz. Fakat kat etmesi gereken yolu hesaba katınca, sana ne zaman ulaşır elbette bilemiyoruz.
